HIGHWAY 285 CORRIDOR View Available Properties

Once a large cattle ranch that stretched from I-25 to just before Lamy, it is now comprised of some 20 subdivisions on both the east and west side of Hwy. 285. Lot sizes range from 1 to 25 acres. Most have associations and enforceable covenants. Lamy and Galisteo are traditional and historic villages. Eldorado was the first of the new subdivisions to be created in the early 1970's. As time went on other smaller subdivisions were added to the corridor. Most of the corridor is served by Eldorado Area Water and Sanitation District for water. Lamy and Galisteo have their own community water system. Sewage is through individual septic tanks as there is no central sewer system in the corridor.

The Eldorado Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department (of which I was a member of for some 20 years), Vista Grande Public Library, Adams Senior Center (which opened in 4/07) and Eldorado Elementary School are all available and enjoyed by the area residents. Comcast Cable provides cable TV to most, but not all the subdivisions. Quest provides telephone service. Waste Management provides garbage pick-up services to most of the subdivisions. Lamy and Galisteo have their own respective community water system.
